Ring Floodlight Cam

After having the Ring Video Doorbell Pro for a few months, I decided to invest in two of their other exterior cameras. In addition to the Floodlight Cam, I also went with their Spotlight Cam Mount.

I opted for the Floodlight Cam for the rear of the house because there was no existing lighting except for the garden lights. It does a great job of lighting the backyard up with its two 3000° Kelvin floodlights.

One cool feature is the ability to create custom motion zones that trigger recordings and alerts. I took this feature further and used it to turn on exterior lights at night via SmartThings and Lutron Caseta. For example, if someone were to walk across my backyard at night, it would start recording in addition to the built-in lights coming on.

Additional features include infrared night vision, a 110-decibel siren alarm, two-way audio with noise cancellation, and dual sensors that detect objects and people.
